My name is Mattie the Mouse.
Welcome to my page!

My journey is about when I was
a little boy living with Mama.
She got sick so I went to live
with a foster family. Eventually
I got to go back to Mama. Then
I had TWO families that loved
me.

About the Author

Beth Gore is a mother to 5
adopted children. 4 are from
the US foster system and 1
is from China. She and her
husband Dan have been
foster parents for 7 years.
Mattie's story was birthed
from some of these
experiences. She hopes to
give a voice to these
precious children who have
spent even one night in
foster care. May they never
feel forgotten. May they
always feel loved.

About the Illustrator

Dawn Faulkner is a
Christian single mother of
one. She has also
mothered several foster
children. Her art captures
the emotions of the
characters because she has
looked into the eyes of these
children and felt their pain,
their loss, their sorrow.
Dawn wants to dedicate all
this artwork to the children
so people will see, through
Mattie's eyes, this world of
foster care.
